At pure bushcraft we will teach you useful survival and wilderness living skills that can be linked back to our ancestral roots. Our experienced bushcraft instructors are DBS checked and trained in first aid, making learning enjoyable and safe for everybody.

Rediscover the lost knowledge of our ancestors. The Pure Bushcraft experience suits anyone who enjoys being out in nature and is interested in survival and wilderness living skills. With carefully planned courses, our aim is to give you the knowledge and skills needed to survive in any situation. From a solid foundation of primitive skills like fire lighting, knife making and shelter building you can move on to our more advanced courses involving foraging for wild edibles, hunting and trapping. Our courses are held in the most beautiful and remote woodlands the Surrey hills have to offer. Lose yourself in a relaxed friendly environment.

Throughout each course you will be encouraged to see your environment through the eyes of our aboriginal ancestors. Respecting wildlife and preserving our beautiful English woodland is at the core of everything we teach.

Meet the Instructors

Callum Swift - Head Instructor

Callum's fascination with the outdoors started when he was 7 years old. He would build shelters and make all manner of things out of twigs and leaves. He quickly began taking his interest seriously and started studying the subject known as bushcraft.  Years later, when he acheived his degree and finished university, he made the decision to put his knowledge to the test and spend 3 months living off the land, using only what nature provides for both food and shelter.

Having attended many courses and testing his skills all over the country he quickly became a well established bushcraft and survival speacialist.

Callum started Pure Bushcraft in 2014 in the hope to educate and inspire people to learn about our natural environment and to raise money for charities that protect Britians woodland and wildlife.
